IN A NUT SHELL
For you who are getting your feet wet in the fantasy genre I believe this is a great book for you!
This is a great YA fantasy book with a fantastic female role and a unique concept This book has plenty of action and I think would be a great book for both woman and men. I want to praise Carson for giving us a female character who is not the standard drop dead gorgeous female lead, but instead a woman who shows her beauty by loyalty and courage. I would think that I had this book figured out and just when I thought I was about to get bored Carson came in and REALLY shook things up!

Once a century, one person is chosen for greatness.
Elisa is the chosen one.

But she is also the younger of two princesses, the one who has never done anything remarkable. She can't see how she ever will.

Now, on her sixteenth birthday, she has become the secret wife of a handsome and worldly king—a king whose country is in turmoil. A king who needs the chosen one, not a failure of a princess.

And he's not the only one who seeks her. Savage enemies seething with dark magic are hunting her. A daring, determined revolutionary thinks she could be his people's savior. And he looks at her in a way that no man has ever looked at her before. Soon it is not just her life, but her very heart that is at stake.

Elisa could be everything to those who need her most. If the prophecy is fulfilled. If she finds the power deep within herself. If she doesn’t die young.

I really want to let you guys know how refreshing it was to have a realistically described female character. She wasn't the skinniest girl in the world and she liked to eat. It was nice to have an author have a true description and let readers know that you do not have to be this sexy little thing to be powerful and save the day. Elisa learns that beauty is not skin deep and that power comes from within and you get to see her struggle with finding that out and I found it absolutely refreshing!!!!!
She proves to everyone that beauty is not what should be praised but a woman who takes control, makes sacrifices, and does not hide in her tower is what should be praised and wanted.
Now on to the story this book was amazing and I think it is a great book for those who are just now getting into fantasy. It was not hard to follow and I didn't have to struggle with the complex story line it simply flowed which was lovely. We have a fast paced story line that had me at times feeling like I was in the story with Elisa. At times I thought I knew what was going to happen and found myself getting board because I THOUGHT I knew how it was going to play out, and I was beyond wrong! You never know who truly is a friend, an enemy, a cowered, or a lover in this book.
This story grips you and pulls you in, and toys with you and your emotions.

Share your thoughts on this book. How did you like Carson's lead role Elisa? Did you find her character refreshing as much as I did? Leave your thoughts down below =)
Happy reading Ya'll

Back to School: Percy Jackson Style

As any fangirl or fanboy wherever you go you want to show your love of books. Being lovers of books we are a unique kind. We crush over fictional characters, they become our best friends, when they hurt we hurt. Books are our escape, our passion, our fun, hobby, friend, books are our lives. Pride comes with being a book nerd and it's something you should embrace. These books we love sometimes take over. We love them so much we want to be a part of that world. I wanted to help find ways for you to always feel close to your favorite books and characters. This week I wanted to do Percy Jackson because I mean who doesn't like Percy Jackson?! These outfits are loosely inspired by some of the loved characters from The Percy Jackson series or the book covers. I stayed on pinterest for hours (shocker right?) to find outfits that have simple pieces that you can find in your closet or wouldn't be hard to find for a good price at stores. I also wanted to find outfits that could easil

Review: Becoming Alpha by Aileen Erin

Title: Becoming Alpha  Author: Aileen Erin  Genre: Paranormal Fantasy  Pages: 267 Goodreads Overall Rating: 4.11 Published:  December 17th, 2013 by Ink Monster, LLC   My Rating:  I can’t do that. I can’t turn my emotions off and on like that. I’m either all in or all out. And if you can’t do that—if I don’t come first, then for God’s sake, leave me alone. Becoming Alpha is the true definition of YA paranormal fantasy and I devoured it. Erin took troupes that are known in YA and ran with them in fun, plausible, and exciting ways while taking her own spin on them. I sped through this book and right after I downloaded the next book in the series because I couldn't wait for the two-day shipping of the physical book.  At the beginning of the book, we meet our main character Tessa and her family. Tessa has an unusual gift and it has marked her as the odd girl out at and causing her to feel isolated. With her family wanting to give her a sense o
